Copper sulphate to use in canker treatment

I need some advice please:

One (potentially 2) of my girls has canker; I've found this treatment elsewhere on the internet:
  • 2 ½ litres of water
  • 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar
  • 1 gram of copper sulphate
I've purchased some copper sulphate pentahydrate but I read that it's poisonous and shouldn't be given to poultry!

I've just seen also that, apparently, the product I need is Acidified Copper Sulphate NOT Copper Sulphate Pentahydrate.

In the meantime poor old Rhoda isn't able to eat, is losing weight, and I want to start helping her.

heres an old post with lots of details about canker -
give all your chooks water with acv to help stop them getting infected ....canker is usually spread by wild birds so if one of your hens has it then chances are they all have been exposed to it
if its thrush rather than canker then plain yoghurt is brilliant plus the acv in her water
a vet would prescribe flagyl or nystatin
     hope this helps

    Thank Kath.
They always have acv in their water so I'm hoping it won't spread too far.
Thank you for the link, I'll read it.
