Avian Tb Passing To Charolais Cattle?

We live on a farm and some of the land is rented to a man breeding Charolais cattle. He says we have to pen in our hens (8 plus cockerel) because they will spread avian TB and other diseases to his cattle. The hen hut is 100 yards from one of the fields he uses as pasture.
