Humidity problems in incubator

I noticed today on my incubator (RCom King SURO) that the tube that feed water onto the sponge was bone dry, having regressed up the tube. Because of this, when the incubator needs more water it has to pump for longer which makes the humidity then spike. What will this do to the eggs as the humidity is jumping between 45% and 50% but was at 40% at one point this morning.

The pump is working fine when I force feed it so I know it's moving the water but something seems to be allowing the water to creep back. I replace the tube incase there was a hole but it's still doing it
